JANUARY 2005

1

Houseplants make a great hostess gift for New Year's parties. Make sure to have a bag of salt ready for your sidewalk for party goers.

2

Stock up on firewood. Sit back and enjoy the weekend.

3
Good time for 2nd application of Wilt-proof on evergreens to prevent tip burn and winter die back. Temperature must be above 40°F at time of spray.
5

This is the best time of year to plan your spring garden and get advice while the Garden Center is preparing for Spring.

This is also the best time to work with our Landscaping Department if you are considering a major project before a waiting list develops.

6
Closed for inventory.
10
Don't forget your feathered friends! Keep a good supply of bird seed on hand. This can also be used as a non-slip surface on your walkways.
15
If winter winds persist, columnar evergreens may need to be wrapped with twine or stretch ribbon to maintain their form.
16
Make sure there is still an opening in your pond surface by running your pump or a heater. If the pond freezes over entirely, ammonia gases will build up and kill fish.
17
Come in from the cold and browse through our gift shop this holiday.
24
Flower and vegetable seed arrive. Seed starting supplies are also available.
31
New pottery, statuary items and fountains arrive - weather permitting.
Spruce up your winter months with beautiful custom-designed silk arrangements from our Floral Department.
Their lovely vibrance will brighten any room!
